From poor to rich and from rich back to poor. What do now? What occurred to me was that even through my money was gone. I still had the skills and the skill proved to be more valuable that the money. So I just simply went back to work, ent back to the street, went back using the formula I had used in the first place to do well and make many times more what I did the first time.
And part of it was I was willing to read just my lifestyle. The fancy cars had to go. The homes and all the stuff had to go and you go back to a modest apartment and a modest place and pull everything done to start over rather than try and keep giving up there when you should have to start over, back to the street or whatever you have to do and just seat it together again.
And probably from the experience, if you treat it right and keep the right attitude, you will be stronger than you were the first time around or the second time around.
To get up to pay some extra bills is one thing to get up to lay the foundation for your fortune is a whole different attitude and mindset and philosophy. So if you have the right attitude, no matter what is happened, if you just read just your attitude and you philosophy and a show new midst and start again. Some of the great fortunes are made after the person turn 50, 60 and the reason is because will all the ups and downs that happen to them in those accumulating of years now when an idea or a new burst of energy or vitality or goals sets in, they have got all their experience to invest. That is why these fortunes become incredible even after 50 and 60. When you 20, you do not have much experience to invest. It does not mean you cannot do okay and cannot really climb the ladder fairly quickly.
And when you are 30, you have a bit more experience to invest if something happened than you had to start over. But sue enough 50 and 60, you have got a good handful of years of experience to invest, which may make all the difference in the world and now how it goes. And it is true, you can tip either easy to be discourage but it all or to be inspired but it all and that is part of the mystery.
The magic is, you can turn around and make another fortune and the mystery is not everybody will do that.
What else could I do to deserve more money? Learning new strategies. It is like the sail boat, then wind blows on every sail boat, but the difference in destination is the set of the sail, not the blowing of the wind. So the same wind blows on us all. The difference on where we arrive three years from now of the sale philosophy attitude, willingness to do the basics and fundamentals to make a new start.
But do you ever hear people say they are eager to live a better life, eager to have a better family, eager to make a lot of money, probably not. And that is a problem because how I see it living a better life, having a better family and making a lot of money, takes an eager desire. We have the remarkable ability to get exactly what we must have but there is a difference between wishes and desires.
I am also sure you have had people talk about wishing they had more money to pay the bills or take a vacation. Or just to take a little pressure off of life.
Wish need to become desire. If they really desired change they would not spend their evenings just watching TV and wishing they were doing something more. The backbone of an eager desire to change is discipline. True ambitions discipline ones, eager desire. It is that little just within us that says, if I want to be read for that meeting tomorrow, I need to finish preparing of it today. If I want to make sure I can pay for my kids’ college education, I need to start saving today. If I want to batter life tomorrow, I need to start working on it today.
Ambition is a minute by minute, day by day mentality. To have the ambition to work towards a better family life, a newer car, a bigger house, a financially secure future. You have to live it every moment. If living a successful life was easy, I am sure more people would be successful. It just being ambitious was enough. I am sure all of the broke and perplexed people in the world, would not be broke and perplex, while most people spend most of their lives struggling to earn a living, a much smaller number seemed to have everything going their way, Instead of just earning a live the smaller group is busy working at building and enjoying a fortune. Everything just seems to working out for them. And here sits the much larger group wondering in awe on how life can be so unfair, complicated and unjust.
So what is the major difference between the little group with so much and the larger group with so little. Despite all the facts that affects our lives, like the kind of parents we have, the schools we attended, the part of the country we grew up in, none has mush potential power for doing good, good as the ability to dream. Dreams are a projection of the kind of life we want to lead. Dream can drive you.
When we allow our dreams to pull us, they unleash a creative force that can overpower everything in our way. To unleash this power, though your dream must be well defined.
A fuzzy future has little pull power well defined drams are not. Wishes are fuzzy, to really achieve your dreams, to really have your future plan pull, your dreams must be vivid. You have got to see the finish line while you are running the race.
You have got to hear the cheers when you are in the middle of a monster project and you have got to be willing to put yourself through the paces of doing the uncomfortable until it becomes comfortably because that is how you realize your dreams.
Now, in addition to these witness. Ben Franklin gave us, three principles of success and ambition that have withstood the test of time. Happiness does not come from big pieces of great success. But small advantage hammered out day by day. Franklin is saying here is that we must be happy with that we have got when we are in pursuit of what we want. Too often we say oh, I will be happy when I just land that contract. I will be happy when I just have more money.
You will not be any happier when you reach your goals than you are right now. It just does not work that way. Abraham Lincoln said you will be as happy as you make up your mind to be right now whether you are no your way, whether you have already gotten there. You will be as happy as you make up your mind to be now. Look at everything Franklin accomplished in his life time. It means that big achievements come one small advantage at a time. It means that you have got to enjoy the journey. It means that you must enjoy and take pride in your little accomplishments.
