Some people experience hardly any good feelings during the course of a day. Because that is what they are used to, they think it is natural. A lack of joy is life is not natural, it is normal. But normal is just another way of saying what usually happens. In parts of the world, poverty is normal. Children dying of huger is normal. Cruelty to animals is normal.
Normal does not mean good and it certainly does not mean natural. Natural is what you are designed for and simply, human beings are designed for happiness. Feeling rich, joyful and happy are neurophysiological states.
Your mind learns through the process of generalization. As a child, you learned how a door opens, you then generalized that information and instantly understood how most doors open. If it was not for your ability to generalize, you would spend time each day relearning how to go in and out of a room.
Happiness worked the same way. Like any other emotional state, the more you think about abundance, wellbeing and joy, the more you get to feel them. Better still, you can amplify each one of these feelings and make them much more intense than you normally experience them.
