Opportunities come infrequently. When it rains gold, put out the bucket, not the thimble.
Start by creating a list of all professional and personal activities that you are involved in and analyze their effect on your life. Figure out the sort of return you are getting from each activity and if or not you truly want to be involved in it. For instance, if you are dong two jobs and one is not giving you the returns you expect but drains you of energy and makes you miserable, consider quitting and looking for another side income. Similarly, analyze the effort you invest in everything you do especially activities that give you monetary return since we are discussing habits related to financial success. Create a new list of activities that give you good results then commit to investing more time, effort and money into those activities and slowly cut back on those that do not give you a good output.
Next, find out which activities are progressive and which ones are regressive. Regressive activities pull you back and do not let your grow whereas the progressive ones take you forward towards growth and success. At this point, revisit the financial goals you created earlier and use them to figure out activities that can take you closer to your goal. For instance, if your financial goal is to open your chain of restaurant, taking cooking classes right now is an activity that could help you achieve that goal. If you have enrolled in a canary program that is good progressive activity and one you should continue. However, if you are attending a singing program while you do not intend to become a singer and you know you have a terrible voice that practice is a regressive one and is certainly a time waster for you. This practice and others like it are the practice you should eliminate from your routine so you can create more time and space for progressive habits and activities.
Spend time with successful people and those who positively influence you so you acquire good habits from them and use them to cultivate financial freedom. If you have millionaire uncle, spend as much time with him as you can. The more you sit with him, the more you will earn things that will help you understand success and encourage you to put in effort to achieve your goals.
Reading books is a brilliant habit that helps you and never goes to waste. Read consistently and slowly each the point where you can read at least two to three books a week. The more books you read, the wiser and more knowledgeable you will become and the faster you shall move towards your goals. Read books on self-development and those that help you become the boss of your life because once you learn to take charge of your mind, you can truly do anything you want. You can climb a mountain, become a millionaire, beat all odds and do absolutely anything you set your eyes on.
Take time to analyze the activities you spend your money on, are those activities giving you any return or is your investment going to waste? If you have invested money in friend’s business and are working as a sleeping partner, assess the return you get from that investment. Is that profit worth all your investment or is the rerun menial? Thinking in these lines helps you find out all the activities that give you poor return on investment which helps you stop spending time and money on them and instead use your money on worthwhile activities instead.

When Thomas Edison began creating inventions, it took him about 1000 failures to reach a point where he received any appreciation and recognition. Had he stopped thinking when the world rejected his first idea, we would have never gotten the electric light bulb and many other of Edison’s amazing creations that add convenience to our lives today.
