Once you have your priorities straight, it is important to revisit them from time to time. Several back, there was a time when I got so caught up in trying to grow our business fast that we started neglecting other, more important areas of our lives. We started changing up our schedules to grow our company as opposed to the other way around and we found ourselves feeling burned out.
In fact, things got so bad at one point that we were fighting costly and took a break from our businesses to talk about it. You know what? We realized that we were already making more than we could spend and that we needed to revisit our priorities. Believe me when tell that just because you get to the promise land does not mean you stay there. You have got to watch all this stuff and protect what you have crated. It would not last forever, at least more wit out any effort it would be.
We do not buy expensive things, not do we need a lot of luxuries to feel comfortable. We both spend way less than we make and like it that way.
So why were we busting our butts trying to squeeze out every last dollar from the business? What was the pint of sacrificing our livelihoods for growing something that was only giving us more work to do, resulting in even greater wealth that we did not really need to support our lifestyle?
When we looked at it like that, we realized how crazy we were being and lowed tings down. Every time things get out of hand now, we make a conscious effort to remember what we need out of life what we actually want. By now we have pretty good idea of what makes us happy and we try to work as team toward that regularly checking in with each other to ensure we are still aligned.
You crated business, so you create the rules on how you are going to run it and mange it for as long as you want.
Always remember why you got started in the first place and do not forget the purpose of your business. Circumstances can change and opportunities come and go. It is healthy to reevaluate what you are doing what you want to do and why you are doing it.
Do not be afraid to change course if that is what is needed and do not be embarrassed if you lose you want at times. It happens to most of us. Just be willing to take your business back into your hands and create the life you want. It is up to you and only you. Freedom must be managed for it to be continually enjoyed. Otherwise, it will fade away.
