The lesson is that our mind is our most powerful tool of leverage. Whatever we think is real becomes reality, in most cases. A person who thinks investing is risky will often find all the reality they want to substantiate that reality. This person will open the newspaper and red about all the people who have lost money investing. The mind have the power to see whatever it thinks is real and blind itself to any other reality.
In order to retire young and to retire rich, one of the most important things you can learn to do is to take control of your own reality. If you can learn to do that making more and more money with less and less effort will become easier and easier. If you cannot control and change your reality then getting richer and richer may take longer than you like. It was rich ability to continually change this reality that ultimately made him rich. It was not the beachfront property that made piece of property, he was soon looking for even bigger pieces of property to test his reality on.
The poor inability to change his reality that caused him to work harder and not get ahead financially. It was his constant saying, I cannot afford it that shaped his reality. He could have afforded the same piece of land if he was willing to change his reality but he did not know it was his reality ah teas in the way. He truly thought he could not afford a multimillion dollar piece of real estate. His thoughts were his reality.
In the end, the primary difference between rich and poor was simply the difference n their realities. One chose to expand his reality by saying, how can I afford that piece of beachfront property, even though he could not afford at the time. It was not the beachfront property that made one rich and one poor. It was their choice of realities.
